Sacroilitis

Sacroiliitis is a condition characterized by pain stemming from the sacroiliac (SI) joint. This joint is situated where your sacrum (the base of your spine) connects to your pelvis, and it can result in intense pain. This discomfort is frequently mistaken for back pain. The pain associated with sacroiliitis is typically sharp and throbbing, and it can occasionally radiate to the groin area as well. The condition is diagnosed through a physical examination and confirmed with an injection of a local anesthetic to numb the joint and assess the patient’s response.
